Ashton - Town of Hurley, Ulster County, NY

Ashton was a small hamlet consisting of a few farms around the store and post office run by T.S. Lenox, in the Town of Hurley, Ulster County. The Post Office opened on Sept. 14, 1886, and closed on Nov. 13, 1913. Ashton was destroyed for the construction of the East Chamber of the Ashokan Reservoir, part of the water supply for New York City.
