"The dining and cooking room was a
board shanty, with open side toward the lake; and never was better
food eaten, or more enjoyed than in this same shanty. No servants
were needed, as the campers all took part in this labor of love. They
were assisted, however, by the saucy little squirrels, who picked up
the crumbs at their very feet."
